Hello there,

I found that in this town of Stafford, UK I wasn’t really able to figure out if there was anything happening at all. After much digging I began finding things and decided to make a website that documented or linked to these events and activities. If you are from or around Stafford this site should help you find out if there’s anything going on in the near future. I’m also trying to make them accessible in any format I can, if you have any suggestions please get in touch! Currently we have an RSS feed and an iCal feed (webcal) which you can import into your calendar application for a live calendar view of Stafford events.

As an example in Google Calendar;

  • under “Other Calendars” click Add
  • then Add by URL.
  • Enter “http://stafforduk.com/?ical” (with the question mark, without the quotes!).
  • This new calendar will be kept updated automatically with events StaffordUK.com knows!
  • Good times!

Advanced users can then set up things like notification alerts of events and whatnot, but that’s for the calendar application to teach you how to do! :-)

P.P.S. I have been asked if we actually make any money off this site. Nope, there’s no profit! The ads shown on the site have been able to cash out once in 2 years.. which covered about 60% at most of the hosting costs over that period. This is a hobby site not a business, the ads are there to lighten the load on the wallet, not to gain a profit! :-)

If you wish to use some of the adspace (Non-profit or charity site banners for free, otherwise may ask that you chip in towards the server bill!) please feel free to contact with your proposal! Bear in mind I will not create or resize the ads for you, nor will I move or change my ad blocks. The blocks that are there now are what’s available. If your ad don’t fit (728×90) it wont appear! Please also no politically or religiously biased ads either, Stafford UK remains neutral on both counts, so we can’t display them.
